Urban Farming SA was founded by Pieter Venter during the COVID-19 pandemic in response to the challenges posed by restrictions and food shortages. The initiative began as a way to empower local residents by teaching them how to grow their own food, ensuring food security during a time of crisis.
Since its establishment, Urban Farming SA has continued to build on this concept, helping individuals and businesses create sustainable urban gardens. The organization also focuses on creating job opportunities, promoting community self-sufficiency, and generating income by offering fresh produce for sale through an online portal.
Urban Farming SA remains committed to fostering resilience in communities and encouraging sustainable food production for years to come.
